Cabin Fever!!!

Wow this week has been hard the last time I actually left the house was on Wednesday morning to take Charlie to school, it is now Friday afternoon and I think i'm going insane!!!??? Send for help!! Poor little Charlie has got the dreaded sickness bug that has been doing the rounds :( so my lounge literally smells revolting, thank goodness for Yankee Candles! I haven't felt great this week either and poor baby Ellis has had a cold. I keep spraying Dettol spray everywhere to kill the germs. Ellis also decided as Chris left the house this morning at 5am that it was time to get up and scream the house down and of course Bella our dog decides to wee in the kitchen!! FML But it is Friday so that means we get Daddy home for two whole days!! Yay!!
Just a quick one today xxx

abandoned blog?

Well its been more than a few weeks now since I've written anything so thought id come on here for a quick update. So Charlie is now into his 2nd week of year one at school and he is really enjoying it.
The last few weeks of the summer holidays weren't that great to be honest we didn't really do very much at all! Hopefully next summer will be more fun.Charlie was actually more than happy to chill out at home and we played a few games and went on a few bikes rides and walks. Ellis is 15 weeks now and is becoming an actual baby rather than a newborn, he has lost the new baby smell which saddens me but i wash his hair in the Dove baby shampoo and it smells like a new baby smell which is great. Chris has started his new job this week but he really isn't enjoying it so far so hopefully something new and better will come along soon. I have been without a phone this week and have really missed my social media especially Instagram!! But Chris has lent me his as he has been given a work phone so all is not lost! I said to Chris i have actually been sleeping much better as i haven't been on my phone for hours before bed time which i think disturbs my sleep so have gone back to reading again. I do have some exciting news to tell you all very soon too!!
Thats all for now

Week 2

So here we are on week two...I am feeling as if I am not doing a lot with Charlie during this summer but to be honest Charlie is most happy when he is sitting on his Ipad watching American family You Tube videos or playing with his batman Lego. This week we have had two movie days!!

Walton Pool

As Chris was on nights this week we get to spend Monday day time as a family so will often go somewhere. This time we choose to go Swimming at Walton swimming pool. We really enjoy it here as it has a slide for Charlie to use plus its just been updated so the changing rooms are really clean which is always a bonus at swimming pools!! There's nothing I hate most than manky swimming pool changing rooms,Yuck! After swimming we found a chip shop along the promenade and sat outside having fish and chips by the sea!! Very British and very tasty. Charlie wanted to go onto the pier after lunch so we took a stroll through the town so see what shop they had, typical British seaside town shops. When we got onto the pier we decided instead of going on the rides we had a go on some of the games in the arcade.
Tuesday my lovely friend and her daughter came round to ours for coffee and lunch, was lovely to catch up and talk about bumps, babies and caesareans. Wednesday was pretty boring. Charlie stayed in his pyjamas for most the day. I took Ellis to a really lovely little baby group at the Children's centre called 'Baby Beginnings' we got to make scrap books for the babies and every week we put photos and bits inside that we have done that week. Thursday we met up with my sister in law, her husband and Charlie and Ellis's cousins and went to Great Notley Country park in Braintree, watch my video to see how much fun we had.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXNgTr6KLHU
Friday we took Ellis to his baby sensory class. It was lovely that Chris got to come along as he is usually working during the day. I think he secretly enjoyed doing the okie cokie haha. As usual little Ellis managed half a class and then fell asleep bless him. So that was our week... xxx

Week 1

So the dreaded summer holidays have begun... although I say dreaded, they're not that bad really!

We begin our week with me asking Charlie to write a list of activities/ days out that he would like to do. The list is long!! I do add a few things myself, but reading through his list I've decided that;
1) We need to win the lottery!!
2) We need more than six weeks to do everything!
3) Can we not just have lazy duvet days everyday??
So the list gets stuck on the fridge for all to see, Charlie has said once he does an activity or thing on the list he will tick it off... I wonder how many things will be ticked??!

So on Monday morning Charlie and I take little Ellis to the local children's centre for a messy play session they had on. Charlie was the eldest child there but he was more than happy getting stuck in with the activities on offer. Ellis had a good look around at everything and then I sat him with some other babies in the shredded paper... he wasn't to sure! In the afternoon we went to the library to sign up for the reading challenge, this is something Charlie does every summer. Charlie was very eager to sign up today as they were holding a treasure hunt which he loves so off around the library we went looking for different pictures of characters with letters on in which we had to spell something out once we had found them all. I signed Ellis up for a library card so he could get some baby books out. I showed him a few books and he loved looking at them and started cooing at

them, so cute!! On Tuesday we met my mum at Barleylands farm in Billericay. I filmed a vlog about our day you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dTOaW3mjAM&t=57s
Wednesday we had a day at home and popped to get Ellis weighed in the afternoon and he had put on a whole pound in 2 weeks!! Chunky monkey!!
Thursday we met up with Charlie's friends for a local bouncy castle day where you paid £5 for a wristband and the children had unlimited play on all the bouncy castles!! The other mums and I set up base with the blankets and chairs and told the children where we were so if they got lost they knew to look for the big tractor bouncy castle and we would be there. The fun lasted for a few hours and then the dark rain clouds crept in and the heavens opened!! No I didn't have a coat, neither did Charlie luckily I had Ellis  rain cover for his pram otherwise he would of had his first experience of rain!! I quickly discovered that if I held the picnic blanket upside down the waterproof part on the bottom would act as an umbrella!! My friend and I just stood there, drenched, mascara running down our cheeks thinking what to do?! The children didn't care they had found the bouncy castle with a roof, genius children!! Ellis was however beginning to wake and was due a feed so we abandoned the bouncy castle day, as went back to ours to play!! Friday was the day I was dreading as knew I HAD to make a start on the mount Everest of a ironing pile that was accumulating in the baby's bedroom (its still being used as my ironing room, sorry Ellis) so I put Ellis in his cot with some toys to look at, Charlie was working his way through a dvd pile downstairs (a tick for his list) and made a very big dent into it!! Go me!! I say it to myself every time, I must keep on top of it, I never do though!!!
